The Watch
The Maranello '57 features our bespoke Stainless Steel 316L surgical standard case. Featuring soft push function buttons and a screw-down crown machined from solid Stainless Steel.

The case weighs a comfortable 95g. It measures 41mm in diameter, with a 46mm lug-to-lug, and is just 12.5mm thick. The top of the case is polished, with the case sides finished in a matt finish to give the design some contrast. Blending seamlessly into the design f the cushion-shaped case is a sapphire crystal, which has multiple internal layers of anti-reflective coating.
The Maranello '57 carries a depth rating of 100m or 10ATM.
Inside the Maranello '57 you’ll find the tried and tested Seiko VK64 Hybrid Mechanical movements. As a mecaquartz, the chronograph second hand on the VK64 has a smooth sweeping motion.
The watch is finished off with an Italian ethically sourced leather strap with contrast stone stitching.
Many people consider the 'California Spider' to be the most beautiful car to emerge from Maranello, with its stunning lines and elegant form equally complimented by its performance credentials. It was designed for leisurely drives with the top down on Saturday, and racing and winning on Sunday. For discerning buyers seeking Italian style and flair of an open sports car with power, reliability, versatility, and excellent road holding and handling capabilities - none was more suited than the Ferrari 250 Granturismo Spyder California.
The booming North American market provided a lucrative opportunity for those who got the formula right, and Ferrari's success was aided by two influential dealers, Luigi Chinetti and John von Neumann. They impressed upon the factory that a dual-purpose 250 GT convertible would appeal to a segment of American clientele, specifically those with influence, wealth, style, and an inkling towards competition. Faithfully following and executing the original concept, the California Spider was given a lightweight folding top, swept-back windscreen, minimal interior appointments, and bucket seats. The elegant bodies were designed by Pininfarina and constructed by Scaglietti.
Omologato are proud to celebrate this historic road and race car with the Maranello California '57
DESIGN ETHOS
I've always loved the California Dial (read here for of the history) but to incorporate it in to a Motorsport watch wasn't easy.It had to have some relevance.
After many weeks researching through old books and talking to drivers who raced for Enzo Ferrari himself, it was apparent that the California which was launched in 1957 was a great way to incorporate the dial design.
The watch features a Grigio sunray dial, black subdials and tachymeter with a choice of Bordeaux or Nero Italian leather rally strap.
I hope you enjoy it as much I did designing it.
